About Me
A Little About Me
My heart is happy when I’m immersed in nature or hanging out with my three ‘sunshine’ sons. I love good food, roller discos and being a celebrant.
I have lived in Stroud for over 15 years, I feel very blessed to be here, living near the woods. Did I mention I love trees?! Whilst I love walking in woodland and adore the natural world, I am equally happy lost in an art project or dancing with my friends.
Caring about the planet is deeply important to me. Sustainability is a fundamental value both personally and professionally. You can read more about this in my blog ‘Eco-friendly celebration planning.’
I am people-curious and an empath, I love to connect with individuals from all walks of life, cultures and creeds. For my degree and Post Grad, I studied Sociology, Religion and Social Science Research Methods. Branching into the celebrant world, all the strands of my work, studies, life experiences and skills have intertwined together perfectly.
My Experience
My working journey has always been intentionally people-centred, in a variety of roles and in a nurturing and supportive capacity. Moons ago, I worked for a charity advocating for homeless people, in a number of projects for women experiencing mental health issues and various youth and community projects.
Throughout the last decade I managed my vintage hire business. A gorgeous creative time, gaining practical event knowledge. From weddings to wakes, anniversary celebrations to themed parties and many other special gatherings. In all my roles I have worked with openness and integrity.
In my late twenties I experienced, as a mourner, my first celebrant-led funeral. The ceremony was a gift to the bereaved with its touching, tender and personalised style. It held a lasting, positive impression on me. Inspiring a clear vision that I would, one day, become a celebrant.
Heart Led Celebrant training were the only choice for me, based upon the depth and fullness of the course, the dedication and integrity of the trainers and the rare inclusion of one to one training and invaluable voice coaching.
Heart-Led Celebrancy
As a Heart-Led Celebrant I work with key elements, word magic, word medicine and storytelling; stories within stories. Sometimes tiny stories are actually huge stories! I view my celebrant role as being of service and deeply value the importance of taking significant time to get to know you. We can do this by meeting in person (always my preference), via Zoom and telephone calls, allowing for ample conversation and discussion. I will actively listen, cultivate your ideas, hopes and wishes and share your experiences and memories meaningfully.
Heart-led celebrancy is all about human connections and engaging in important invisible work; nourishing self care with continual personal expansion, intertwined with regular reflection upon what I bring to ceremony. These positive approaches are embedded deeply in my practice, bringing empathy, compassion, lightness, loving kindness, gratitude and growth to the core of my work and ceremonies.
Whichever type of ceremony you are requiring, wherever your location may be and whether your style is quirky, wild, themed, traditional, unconventional or an eclectic mix. Bringing an abundance of calm, creativity, respect, acceptance and heart throughout the whole process.
